I currently have a Leupold VX-II 1-4x20 on my rifle.  I want more magnification, but I don't want a bigger scope.  The ideal optic would be the Nightforce 2.5-10x24.  It's the same size as most 1-4 variable scopes.  But at $1,200+ it's a little too spendy for me right now.  Only problem is I can't find anything else like it available.

So the question is, other than the Nightforce 2.5-10x24, are there any other scopes with that kind of magnification (or close) that are a similar size to a typical 1-4x20?  If not, anyone know why?  I would think anyone who made a compact scope with more than 4x or 5x magnification in the $300-$700 price range would make a killing.  Am I totally off-base here?

The Leupold 2.5-8x36mm MR/T w/ the M2 1/2moa turret are great scope.  We have a display unit that will be selling for $775 non-illuminated.

If you are really look for price the Burris Full Field II TAC 2-7x35mm maybe the way to go.

The NF 2.5-10x24 is a really nice optic.  I find it almost as bright as my TA-11F and 3.5-10x50 VX-III's that have much larger objectives.  They are not inexpensive, but if you can save your pennies, you sure won't be disappointed.  It sounds like a perfect fit for your criteria, other than price.  Things besides physical size and magnification affect price.
