I've never paid that much for a complete rifle. I really hope they offer just the necessary parts at some point. I know, I know... I'll go be poor somewhere else. |

Bolt is being replaced, carrier being replaced, upper is proprietary. Would be nice if they could offer the upgrade parts at a reasonable cost to existing owners. |

As previously mentioned earlier in the thread, I've been having the same failure to eject issues that others have been having, but last weekend I shot my faux MP5SD 9mm upper with a YHM R9 and the heaviest weight from the action tuning kit on it on a buddy's FRT lower with a heavy buffer and it ate 4 mags on simulated full auto fire without a single hiccup. I swapped it to my primary AR's lower with an A5H2 buffer (5.33oz) and Geissele Super 42 rifle spring and I also did not have an issue. Seems like my issue is the BCG running too quick with the standard Q Shorty Stock buffer and spring? Considering I dumped 4 mags without a single issue on what was practically full auto ROF, it has to be. I'm going to order the Maxim Defense heaviest (non PCC) buffer and see if it fixes my issue with the Q Shorty Stock. |

They sent me a new bolt and and action tuning kit after my most recent issues. I haven't been able to test anything with it yet. My last range session was dedicated to my new CCW. Hopefully as the weather warms up, I'll get more opportunities to test some things with the 9mm upper. |

Has anybody tried the CMMG Radial Delayed Blowback BCG with the Maxim Defense Roller Delayed Buffer? I was thinking that if my issue is that the BCG is moving too fast, then the Roller Delayed Buffer might slow it down to a reliable velocity without further increasing the reciprocating mass (which defeats the whole purpose of the Radial Delayed Blowback system), but I'm hesitant to drop another $180ish on a buffer after already spending $80 on the 5oz PDW buffer. I'll obviously wait to see how well it works with the 5oz buffer before spending additional money, but wasn't sure if this would muck things up. |

I would like to convert them to the new Fixed Ejector design; will you be selling upper and BCG kits to those of us that would like to save some money upgrading our equipment?" This is their response: "The new fixed ejector BANSHEE and RESOLUTE are not “fixes” for the existing models. They are an addition to our product offerings that utilize technology that was introduced with our DISSENT line. Your BANSHEE and RESOLUTE models still have our Lifetime Quality Guarantee, and if you are having issues with yours, we will work with you to resolve those issues and get your firearm running as intended. If you choose to retrofit your existing models, the only offerings we have now for you to choose from are complete upper groups with stripped upper receiver and bolt kits coming mid-year." I ordered one, even though they aren't supposed to exist. |

Well, it appears I am very late to the game. I have a AR I built several years ago with a standard AR upper and lower, and a 16in RDB bolt and barrel. Looking at my order history, I bought the RDB bolt and barrel, and one of their stripped uppers on 9-7-20. It has been running fine, but I have only put a few hundred rounds through it. However over the weekend I put another 150 rounds through it and now I am having failure to eject issues. Total round count is probably in the 300-500 round area as of right now. I do a little searching and find this thread. While I have not had time to read through the whole thing, it appears from what I have read, the issue is the ejector springs. It also seems they will send new bolts to those having issues, but it seems even those have issues too. Sounds like I do not want to screw with even trying to get the spring ejector issue fixed, as it sounds like it is a temporary fix until it happens again. Sad that I would have to spend another $430 to fix it. |

Either try another bolt with springs that will probably only last about as long as the old ones, or fork out the money for the fixed ejector. It would be nice if they offered this kit at a discount for those who have the problematic older style. |

It worked fine for about a thousand rounds and since then I've had the same problems everyone else on this thread has. When I called CMMG they acted like they never heard of the issue and suggested it was probably the non-CMMG parts causing the problem. Since I didn't buy a complete CMMG gun, they didn't do squat for me. Read the copy on this new product on their website. They say there is nothing wrong with the old in-bolt ejector system. They just changed it because some people may see improved performance. The reviews on their webpage are full of people bitching about FTE issues with zero replies addressing it. Fuck CMMG. I loaded up on spare springs and the BCM kits so that will keep me good for awhile but after this retro fit kit roll out with zero support for those with the flawed version, I'll throw the old one out before giving them another penny. |
| Yeah after begging for the suspected updated bolt and getting it free, I never even installed or tried it. I was getting the feeling from the messages back and forth that they were done trying to figure out the first gen versions. It now sits in parts in the parts bin. Mine was the same as your's, bolt and barrel purchase with standard AR accessories. I put my efforts into the PSA AR-V with Maxim Delayed Buffer without any issues. The Scorpion mag lower is a bonus. |

While part of me agrees with this, what other options are there? It is either get the fixed ejector parts, or go back to straight blowback (which I do not want to do). Or you can go to something like the mean arms bearing delayed uppers, but those are $1500. |

When talking about full auto options for a 9mm M16 variant, $500 isn't much relative to the price of a transferrable M16 variant. I go through all the options I know of and list them all on my site here: https://c3junkie.com/?page_id=361 IMHO, the CMMG RDB is the ONLY option for smooth, reliable 9mm M16 that I wouldn't have any reservations about putting on an expensive transferrable lower receiver. That said, if you've read my website and posts, I do NOT think the stock CMMG RDB is that smooth either. It has the potential to be once you select the right buffer tube, buffer and spring. I also take it a step further with my custom aluminum carrier extension w/ a biased weight that kind of mimics how a real German MP5 carrier has tungsten powder inside of it. I would really like to see CMMG offer the FE Banshee retrofit kit for .40SW, just so I could get my hands on the .40SW bolt which would have less aggressive angles on the bolt to incur more delay to the action (this is how I ran my old 9mm Banshee 9mm using a .40SW bolt to run 9mm). Or maybe sell the bolt separately like they do for the 9mm / 40SW / .45ACP / 10mm as a bolt 'rehab' kit or whatever for the older spring loaded ejector Banshee's. |

They followed my advice and bought several different tungsten powders in varying sizes to determine their optimal size and then got them in 5 gallon containers. I remember them telling me how much money they made on them in a year and I didn't get a penny. Then I heard someone there saying they wanted to patent it and I told them that is ridiculous since it is originally done by HK..... at least to my knowledge. I wouldn't be surprised to see that other companies may have done the same. All that said, they did give me a few for testing. Back then Kynshot wasn't around and my go-to buffer was probably an old AAC buffer but then the roll pin broke on mine. I ran my old MGI buffer a lot. I used to run a lot of full auto 7.62x39. The tungsten powder buffers didn't have as much of a dead blow hammer affect as the MGI, AAC or H2, H3 in my experience so I never used them as much. |

Sucks to see the mean systems are not any better. It looked like a very interesting design and I liked how it came with the different wedges to alter the delay. Glad I did not jump in and buy one. I inspected my bolt a little closer and the ejector is very weak. I can push it down probably a little over 1/16th in with no resistance and then not much more about half way down before I start getting meaningful resistance. |

Scheel's Roller Delayed Buffer if you want to keep using your endomags. If I was to go with the roller delayed buffer, I would have to also get a new barrel and bolt. So the buffer system, bolt, and barrel all together is going to far exceed the cot of the cmmg FE kit. So sadly, the FE retrofit is going to be my cheapest option. My current upper looks to be pretty much standard AR flat top, so I can at least reuse that with other projects/builds, leaving only the old spring ejector BCG as trash. So at least there is that. |
