I found it at Brownell's like the guy suggested, they have everything in that color. It's a different color for sure, not really gray. I'm going to put some on the 9mm AR I'm building and see how I like it.

Hopefully, Magpul will put out some grey ladder and XT panels. The color matches pretty good with the old school ARMS mounts/sights. |

It appears that the Aluma-Hyde isn't going to match the bluish tint of the Magpul stuff. I had a bad feeling this would happen when I got the Magpul stuff, and it did. The Dark Parkerized Gray is a nice gray (the Pmags look good) and is the color that Magpul should have done with their gray line of accessories. From the moment I got the Magpul furniture in the mail I wasn't sure I liked them and at this point I'm fairly certain I'm going to throw the Magpul parts back in the box and never use them. Can't we just get a straight gray, Magpul? |

It's crossed my mind but might just go in a different direction with this build. I don't see the rubberized grip playing nice with paint so that will have to be replaced anyway I'm thinking. I'm not sure how the BUIS will take paint either. We'll see. |

For my 223rd post, I wanted to show a picture. I repainted my 22 AR from earlier, stealing the idea of Concrete Gray from jukeboxx13, except I just used gray primer with black specks. I really like it, and it looks much better in person than in these pictures. It even gave it a rough texture, which I like.

Finally got back home and had the time to snap a few pictures. Horrible lighting and I'm using an older point and shoot, so the quality isn't the best. Either way, it's a PSA 16" carbine with Rainer Arms Force 12" handguard, Noveske NSR FG(dyed grey) panels, Umbrella Corp FG(dyed grey) grip, B5 Systems SOPMOD Bravo FG(dyed grey) stock. I'm also using a Gen2 FG(dyed grey) PMAG.

Anywhere between 20-30 seconds I'd say. I didn't use a stopwatch and get them exactly the same, I just matched the color. |
