I give a general overview of gas blocks as well as review a few in here. TL;DW -Standard FSP is classic, obviously, and there's nothing wrong with it. -PRI Flip up is the coolest gas block out there, hands down, but obviously requires a certain rail setup. -Standard lo-pro is the most common these days, and again totally useable. -Wojtek and other similar simple "infinitely adjustable" AGBs are great for a "set it and forget it" solution -Aero and Superlative click adjustable gas blocks are the next step up, they make for an easier time adjusting your gas, but at least for me aren't something I want to constantly mess with. -The Griffin is great for a suppressed/unsuppressed gun. Very durable, not much to go wrong with it. Still prone to carbon locking, though it's easier to get working again than trying to mess with a tiny locked-up screw. Primarily a solution for a rifle/can/ammo setup that's not going to change much, like a duty rifle. -Riflespeed is the Cadillac of AGBs, super easy to adjust and also see exactly what setting you're at any time. Way more likely to use this to quickly tune into a load/can/cold weather/foulding etc, and adjust on the fly if necessary. Also a very handy way to measure backpressure, at least relatively. |

I have a Riflespeed on my main competition guns. I've noticed the plunger is starting to stick. They definitely need maintenance. My mini recce has the superlative block and it's very good for suppressed use. I had the SLR block and it's not great. The geissele block I had worked OK but apparently they're not great either. Anyway ymmv...so far the riflespeed has been pretty good. |

| I like Strike Industries collar adjustable. Riflespeed seems like the best design on the market, but they're heavy. I'd like to try the JP D2 series, but every time I've needed a block, they've been out of stock. Of course, they're in stock now. |

| I've used Hodge gas blocks for a couple recent builds and they are very nice, and pre-drilled for pinning. PA has had them on sale for a while now. |

| I have standard FSBs, setscrew lo-pros, setscrew non-click adjustable lo-pros and YHM flip-ups on various ARs. I have no distant favorite when it comes to gas block styles, probably as a result of working for a manufacturer and working with many different styles of gas block. For me, it's whatever fits the desired use and/or style. |
