Very simple. Is it really worth it on an SBR 10.5" barrel.....I've started the SBR process and know that this weapon is not going to be used for long range precision, but is it really worth it to add a free float rail to a short barreled rifle. Any empirical comparison would be nice if anyone has it available thanks |
Mechanically & ballistically it will be pretty much cosmetics. So, it comes down to the point that its your equipment & what you like. |
| There are 3 reasons to FF an AR. Accuracy, releive stress on barrel, and looks. In the accuracy dept. your not going to notice any differene unless you put high power glass, a custom trigger, and run match ammo. If you use a vertical foregrip on your AR, you can put pressure on the barrel from torqueing the grip and FF would relieve this (not that big a deal to me and many others). Looks is really all that matters. Go what works for you and your budget. |
