Guys I built a new AR-15 for my son and used a Eagle Arms 20" A2 barrel.  I replaced the front site post with a lower profile gas block and the second "ring" where the from site post was is bare metal and has a pin hole.  Is there a ring I can use to cover this that takes a pin to fill the hole?  I see on the Army's DMR rifle has a ring in front of the gas block that I always thought was used to attach a suppressor but maybe think now it is used to cover the space the missing A2 site took.

Thanks

Would this cover that area? EXTENDED Low Profile Gas Block $39

From the product's description it sounds like that's exactly what it's made for

or you can put the taper pin back in the barrel grind it down and then paint over it.

That stinks.  There is no add on ring without replacing the gas block I just installed.  I thought about painting it, but it's all brand new a pretty.  I used a DSA reciever set and UTG pro rail.  I think it came out really nice minus the shinny ring on the barrel.

The easiest fix is to buy a gas block that is designed to cover both taper pin holes.
It's paying that stupid tax that hurts. (we have all paid)

Use the other gas block as the first part of your next rifle.

If you need the low profile to hide under a long handguard, take a look at the YHM 9381A. If not, then the YHM 9836A or one of their folding front sight post designs will work too.
