Ok, so this is my first AR-15 build. I just finished tricking out a 10/22, and I feel ready for the big leagues. I've done a bit of research, and decided on an RRA, since they seem very DIY friendly. I've already ordered a stripped lower through Gunbroker, and I intend to get the rest from rbprecision, due to their lower prices. My desired rifle is pretty basic, it's going to be an A4 carbine, but I'd like a removable front sight/weaver gas block. I also like the Hogue grip and free float tube, because it really preserves the classic lines of the rifle, while adding some improved ergonomics. My question is this: does it make more sense to go with the complete rifle kit that they sell, (AR4002) or would I be better off getting an upper half and the rest separately? Keeping in mind that if I got the kit, I'd end up getting the removable sight and Hogue stuff anyway... Thanks a lot for your thoughts. |

My only advice too you is, If you know what you want.........get what you want. Don't settle for what someone else wants to put together for you. I would think they would give you the parts you want in the kit (granted you will pay a little extra), or you can purchase all the parts you want separate, and have them assemble (upper i mean) for you....i know Adco will. Have fun with it.
