I will be starting my first AR15 build in the next month or two and have already posted several topics with questions and ideas I have had for the build, I still have not decided exactly what I want but what should I buy first?
Should I buy the parts to build a complete lower first or complete upper?
Or should I just buy the parts in a random order based on when I find them for a good price?
What steps should I take for my first build and in what order?
I am a newbie right now when it comes to AR15s and that is why I ask so many questions that may seem strange or obvious to most of you on this forum but thats why I'm here, for the help and opinions of others on this forum.

Also for my first build or for that matter first AR15 period should I build a lower end AR just to get started or should I go all out and do it right the first time even though it will cost more and take longer? I'm thinking take my time and do it right the first time.

Thanks in advance

First:  Buy a stripped lower reciever and build the lower half yourself.  Check out Aim Surplus for a lower parts kit, stock, buffer tube, spring, buffer, etc)
Second:  Buy a fully assembled upper receiver.  (Some uppers are sold with bolt carrier groups and charging handles, if not, you have to buy them separately)

You will also need, sights, mags, and ammo.

Take your time.  It's fun.

I agree with lowe first since that is really the only regulated part of the weapon system. If The dems decide they want to stop the sell of all guns and rifles and you already own the lower you are good to go. You can still buy and build the rest of the rifle.
