Well I finally got around to sighting in my 6.5 today. Seekins lower with a Magpul PRS in fde. Upper is a generic billet upper with a Ballistic Advantage 18” fluted Grendel barrel with an adjustable gas block. I put a Trijicon Credo 4-16 on it. It’s the first time I’ve shot a 6.5 Grendel. Sure is loud indoors! I’m impressed. So far i really like the build. As it heated up it would start shooting about 1” low @100 yards but was very consistent. Cooled down and back to zero. Every thing on it was bought on sale except the Seekins lower. As I was shooting it today and got to thinking about some of the parts on it. I recall buying some of the parts years ago. Maybe a decade or more ago. I think I’ve had the prs stock over 10 years new sitting in a box. I took a pic of it when I finished the build. Found the pic and it’s from 2/6/23! It took me 3 years to sight this in. It’s amazing how fast time goes by in your 40’s. I had better finish up the 12.5”Grendel build soon and get it to the range before my eyes really start to decline.

Watch out 6.5 Grendel AR-15’s have a way of multiplying. I have four AR-15’s chambered in 6.5 Grendel plus a 12” pistol and a Cz 527 American. I hate to tell you this but you think time flies by at 40 wait till you are 70! Great looking rifle! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do mine. |
