They are typically bored for .750" It is possible to find one from a pencil contour that is .625 They do not interchange and are a unique pair with the barrel onto which they were installed. Installing requires a special jig and is not considered a DYI project. Some kitchen table builders have ghetto-ed used ones with set screws.

So someone selling a Colt F marked FSB is selling something that essentially can't be re-used? Some folks have more tools in their garages than others. They can be redrilled for new taper pins by a good machinist. Also, as someone else mentioned, a lot of guys use them with set screws - the USAMU SDM-R used a set-screwed FSB so azimuth adjustment could be done with both front and rear sights. ~Augee |

These were not "ghetto-ed". There are flats machined into the barrel for the set screws to bear against for this application. |

Thanks all. Guess I'll get something else. If you need to add an FSB one way is with the Armalite Clamp-on FSB Not as secure as pinned. May not be F-marked. |
