Just purchased this rifle today went to range and magazine springs dont appear to be strong enough to keep rounds against feed lips so bolt will pick up.  Shooting an Ap4 factory dpms magazines and South African ammo.  Every other round i have to remove mag and position next round at top so it will feed.   Any suggestions and has anyone had any issues w ap4 or dpms mags.  Super pissed off I paid a lott of money for this rifle.  Thanks

Don't let DPMS know you are shooting the S.African ammo it states in their manual that doing so voids the warrenty.

Sounds like a mag issue. Do you have more than one mag? Have you disassembled the mag, cleaned/lubed it, and checked inside the mag body for roughness/burrs? A small piece of fine sandpaper would take care of any roughness/burrs.

Make sure your new rifle is clean and well lubed in the bolt carrier.  It takes AR's a few rounds to wear in.  Might also try some US ammo before passing judgment on your ne AP 4.

Bad mags.  I would buy a couple new ones from 44mag.com,  plus send these in for warranty replacement

DPMS does not say SA will void you warranty.  They just says it is crap ammo and the rifle is not reliable with it.  Why does DPMS say that?  Because it's true.

this came from dpms's website  Go to dpms's website and look in the form there was just post about ammunition and voiding the warranty that is where i got this information from.                                                                                               We
have reviewed several reports, from several manufacturers', regarding
problems using this ammunition. The problem appears to be the bullet
contour and the overall length of the cartridge, which is contacting
the rifling before firing. This is creating a gas port pressure and
chamber pressure higher than recommended, therefore causing feeding and
extraction problems due to the increased bolt carrier velocity. In
addition, there is accelerated fatigue on internal parts. There are
also indications that brass may be out of spec, which could create an
unsafe condition.
