[ARCHIVED THREAD] - DPMS barrel?

Hey guys, Im thinking of buy ing an upper from del-ton. Its a 16" carbine with a fluted barrel, my pnly reservation is yhey want to use a DPMS barrel. Any one had any experence with this barrel or DPMS barrels in general? Thanks for any opionions or advice!!! Fisty

FWIW, as DPMS uses 4140 steel in the majority or thier barrels I'd go to CMMG (see the Industry forum) and purchase one of his chrome lined 4150 1/7 twist barrels. I own 2 of them and they are both shooters.

I'd like to hear about the DPMS barrels too, as I'm looking at purchasing from del-ton as well.

Does any one know of another option for a16" chrome lined,1/9 fluted barrel, that would be in stock?
