If you have a stripped lower  (No LPK or PG) and wish to build the lowest cost entry level AR , Would a Del ton Kit (Complete 20 in.barrel A2 minus lower) from a possible  future group buy price or an A1 Complete upper set up ( Used Milsurp) with a DPMS $46.00 LPK be a lower cost alternative ?

Since you probably only know all the prices involved for each of the items, you're probably the only one that can answer this. Don't forget to figure shipping everything into the total.

You also have to decide if you want an A1 or A2 style.

Edited to add: Remember the A1 will probably have a 1:12 barrel. This would probably limit your ammo choices in the future.

I have $150.00 into build so far (stripped lower with no LPK or PG including FFLfee, tax,Dros) and I'm shooting for a $500.00 build price (not including Mag or Mags and BB) WHO THINKS THIS IS POSSIBLE ? what sources could help me pull it off ??hinking.gif

The days of $500 rifle builds are gone I'm afraid to say. Maybe if you scrounge the EE or online auction sites you may be able to pull it off, but doubtful.

Last build was a Superior lower at $100 plus a J & T M4 kit for $509.  Don't think I could have done much cheaper.

Have since thrown another hundred or so into the project.  And I'm probably not done.

if you have a stripped lower already i would go with a complete parts kit (upper comes assembled) with all the litte pins springs etc i did it with a 12 inch long puch and a ground down nail it took me about an hour and a half not that difficult as long as you have some help holding stuff. If your going to do the kit watch this vid i found it helpful http://lifelibertyetc.com/RangeBag.aspx
