I'm looking for a 3X-9X compact scope for a future AR build.  I have a Leupold Vari-X 3X-9X on a Remington 600 and I like it.  Very clear scope, 11” long and light weight on a light gun.  I bought it back in the late 80s.  Now, the only compacts that I see at the Leupold site are for rimfires.  What few compacts I've looked for seem to be for the rimfire/airguns.  What I'm attempting to build will be a 16” flat top with the gas block and collapsible stock.  No front sight.  This will replace my (Don't laugh) Mini-14 that I pack around the farm.  Any suggestions?

I have about 4 of those same compact scopes from the 80's. They were decent scopes for the money. I think they make a 2x7 thats about the same size now.

I have one of an AR I bought last year and two on some H&K's. I put a larger 4x14 x44 scope on my colt I bought back in the fall. its a Zeiss conquest and I actually like the larger scope now.

I spotted one on E-bay but it's silver.  If I can snatch it for under 90 bucks, I'll get it.  I never was big on fashion.
