I bought a NCStar 4x30 illuminated rangefinder scope about a month back, and on my first convoy live fire exercise, the illuminator knob popped off! If I mail this off, I will not be here when it comes back in the mail. Does anyone have a parts/service manual so that I can reattach the knob myself? I am looking for real help, not a ncstar sucks flame post okay. If I had the money I'd have gone ACOG, but my pay being what it is, ya understand why I had to go lowest bidder. Thanks

No flaming…….your life depends on your weapon. Do your self and your buddies a favor and remove the cheap scope. If you don’t have access to a proven optic then put on a carry handle.

+1, I would never let any of my guys run an NcStar.  Are you even a trigger-puller?  If you are, you should be issued a CCO, EOTech, or ACOG.  If not, just use your irons.

If you absolutely feel that you must have a scope, look into Simmons ProDiamond scopes.  Comparable cost to the NCStar offerings, but quality that is a million times better.

A manual?  Scopes don't come with instructions for assembly/dissasembly.  As for NCStar...  there probably is a service manual, it's probably written in some far east language, and is probably overseas.  Good luck finding one.  It would probably cost you more to get than it would to buy another NCStar...

Thanks for the feedback fellas, I'm sure I'll be able to afford more toys down the road, but for now my specialist funding will have to do. The guys up at customer service for Ncstar sent me a new scope, no questions asked, so I can't knock their reliability in that department. The Acog will have to wait though, at least untill I sell a kidney. I'm not a mainline trigger puller anyway, otherwise I wouldn't have to buy my accessories, but I do want to be able to see what I'd be shooting at when I have to. Thanks for your help, I'll keep an eye out for those other companies.
