I have a Bushmaster 20" A2 rifle. Ban era. H-bar no features. I want to change it to a no ban barrel to make a nice looking pre-ban Bushmaster. My question is. Were the pre-ban BM barrels H-bars? |

One of the most accurate barrels I ever owned was a post-ban Maine Bushie 1/9 20” Hbar. Black Hills .223 in 52gr match was sub-MOA. I think I got the rifle in the late 1990s. I don’t recall if it was limited-run of match/target production or what, but…dang! Never should have sold it! But I did… |

I'm sorry maybe I'm missing something: What are the markings on your barrel? It will indicate if it's an HBAR. Or simply look at it: remove the upper handguard and look, if you cant see it thru the holes. If your intent is to simply replace the same barrel with one that has a bayonet lug and hider. And IIRC, and others have said too, bushmaster sold both versions, so if you want to go with an HBAR, even though you dont have one now. Just do it. |

I have an H-bar. printed on the barrel. It is a post ban barrel with no features. I want to add bayo lug and flash hider but didn't know if BM ever made H-bars with pre-ban features. Now I know. I want to keep the original barrel to the rifle with the rifle. I'm having John Thomas at Retro Arms Works fix it up for me. |

I added a flash suppressor and bayo lug. John Thomas at Retro Arms Works did it. He’s great. I’m very happy to have retained the original barrel to the rifle and yet still feel Bushmaster did make them this way Attached File Attached File |
