Hi Everyone,

I'll be building my first upper in the next week and was wondering if there are any tips/tricks that you guys have to make everything go smoother?

I've already assembled the lower, and the parts that I will be using for the upper are:

-Complete M4 Upper Assembly from Bravo Co.
-ADCO SBR 11.5" stripped barrel
-Carbine gas tube
-VLTOR SS Low-Pro gas block with set screw
-Larue 10" FF

I did not purchase a barrel nut or delta ring assembly because they aren't needed with the Larue handguard.  I have all of the necessary tools and have taken my other uppers apart and put them back together before.  This will all be mated with a BCM auto bcg.

I guess I'm just wondering if there is anything different between assembling brand new parts and taking a used upper apart and putting it back together?  The only area I am a little concerned with is lining up the gas block.

On the VLTOR gas block with set screw, there doesn't need to be a recessed area milled or cut into the barrel for the set screw to "fit" in right?  From the information I have gathered around here and other places on the net, I'm under the impression that I just line everything up and then tighten the screw.  Am I correct in my assumption?

Thanks in advance for any and all information and tips you guys provide.

Mike

Have all the tools necessary to install the barrel (upper receiver fixture holder, torque wrench)
Don't forget to lube the treads with lithium grease, read the sticky first if not sure
