Does it matter which end of the buffer spring goes into the butt stock first?

Usually one end of a spring has a double coil. I have mine out of my Colt and I can't see a difference.

On all of mine, carbine springs, the spring fits tight on the buffer on one end and loose on the other, so the tight end goes on the buffer.

Did we decide what end goes in first? Thanks for the help. I'm new at this so I'm hoping this post works.

They are the same on both ends. Spray with CLP oil. Blot excess off with a dry rag. Put buffer on spring and insert in tube.

I have one spring in my AR and two spares. All have one end that fits tighter on the buffer.
