The bolt spring buffer will not move freely when installed.  I marked it up pretty good when I removed it.  I ordered another but I was wondering what diameter it is supposed to be before I mess another one up.  I checked the hole in the lower and it is free of burrs.  Any tricks to installing it?

This is a very unusual post.

Not quite sure what you are calling a "bolt spring buffer".  I have never seen a buffer fail to slide in and out of the extension tube freely.  What diameter are you really asking about??  The spring, the inside of the extension tube, or the buffer assembly itself?  What component did you "mark up pretty good"??  What do you mean by "mark up"?  Also which hole in the lower are you talking about.

My mistake.  I meant Bolt Catch Buffer.   I always called it the detent for the bolt catch.  The replacement I got at the gun show yesterday fit perfect.
Your right, I have always felt unusual.
