Hey everyone,

What is the definition of "loading a Bi-pod?"  I read an article last night that said that when shooting for groups, "you should use a front/rear bag, and have the front bag as close to the mag-well as possible, the same way you'd load a bipod."  My bi-pod is mounted out in front of my gun, near the end of the 12" quad-rail. It's a 16" rifle. Is this backward?  Should I bring it in front of my mag well?  What are the benefits?  Thanks!!

The first two minutes of this video gives a quick summation on proper loading of a bipod.

The placement of your bipod is good, you don't want it at the magazine.

From the wording of your post it seems like the writer is  using a front bag instead of a bipod and placing the bag in front of the magwell and pushing the rifle forward on the bag the same way you would load a bipod.

The front of my LaRue 9" free floating handguard is where I place my old Bobro gen1 bipod, mine is only a 16" medium contour barrel with midlength gas system.

When I use my M4 carbine and A2 20" barrel rifle that does not have a free floating rail system, I use my sandbag close to the magwell so I don't put extra pressure on the barrel to have a more consistent groupings.
