OK....put another 200 rounds of Aussie surplus through my modified BAR-10 today.  No malfunctions, which is getting to be normal with this gun.  Accuracy continues to be superb.  I have a spare parts kit now, as well, which fits nicely in the Vltor tube and TD VFG.

Modifications and accessories are as follows:
BMAS front flip up BUIS
ARMS #40L BUIS
Home-rolled buffer to allow use of VLTOR stock and tube
Ergo grip and Gapper
Cut and remove Izzy brake, add Armalite A2 FS

Mods on order:
Gemtech Bi-Lock for my TPR-S suppressor
Surefire midlength rail system

Would you provide details of the buffer you made and the spring you are using with it?

Have you disassembled and inspected the bolt to ensure it is not impacting at the end of the recoil stroke?

My buffer started life as a Colt 9mm buffer.  I measured the bolt carrier's travel into the buffer tube and ascertained the necessary OAL of the buffer from that.  I weighed the factory buffer and decided to make the new one heavier, since the only known issue with the BAR10 is the extractors breaking.  I wound up having to use tungsten for the weights, since steel ones were not heavy enough.

The spring is the factory spring cut to 29 coils.  The buffer does impact the back of the tube, as it is supposed to.  I have 400 rounds through the gun with this new buffer arrangement with no malfunctions and no adverse effects.

what clips are you using???  Have you found a decent manufacturer yet?? I have been to the range a few times now with my bar10 with mixed feeding results.  I am not trying to stir anything up, I just want to know what brand/type of clips you guys are using, and if it works, where you got them from.  I purchased several cheapos off the internet with sketchy results.

On a positive note, I too am pleased with the incredible accuracy with the bushy-coulndt be happier.

Thanks,
Scott

Buy metric Belgian mags if you want the best, but assorted used ones have worked fine for me too.

Nice looking rifle!
What do you think about the the BMAS flip front sight?
Does it look like it will stand the test of time?Or some field use for that matter.
Thanks

It's aluminum.... I'm going to give it a couple of hard whacks before I pronounce it sturdy, but it seems like it will take it.
