So, new to Comp series sights here. I bought a used M2 with extended battery holder.
My question is this: is there a disc?sleeve?spacer? Anything? that is supposed to seperate or isolate the spare battery from making contact with the one energizing the sight? Online search has me baffled. The previous owner did not buy it new and has always ran the sight with both batteries in constant contact issue free. My thinking is that the batteries should not make contact??? Any help is appreciated.

This is what I remember back when I had a M2.

You put the second one in backwards. I also kinda of remember one that you screwed in front of the original cap....it looks like there was a little lip that might have kept the batteries for touching. pic from Amazon:
