I am running an Aimpoint on an A3 upper with an LMT backup sight.  Due to the LMT, I cannot use the rear pop-up lens cover that came with the Aimpoint.  The rifle will ultimately be stored in a locking rack in a patrol car where the lock will sit on the handguard where the front lens cap rests when open.  I don't want the front lens cap closed when the rifle is in the rack as it precludes my use of the LMT in a rapid deployment situation.

What I'd like are options for protecting one or both lenses.  I was thinking that a kill-flash might work up front lens but couldn't come up with anything for the rear lens.  Any ideas or input would be greatly appreciated.

You didn't mention how your AimPoint was mounted, so take a look at this:

With a cantilever mount, you get the benefit of having your optic further forward, plus you have room for your scope caps.  Note that I have them opening down, so the fold against the gun, out of your field of view and where they're unlikely to get snagged on something.

Have you thought about a scope coat cover?

The Aimpoint is mounted as far forward on the receiver as possible.  I can't run it any further forward due to the locking arm on the rack.  I'm using a ARMS 22M68 with full spacer.

Edited to add this current image:

Besides the suggestion of the scope coat cover, how about a med scope bikini?

Why do you really need covers?  They are just something to get in the way when you'll need to shoot.
