I was wondering if this was normal for C3's. Out of the 10 settings, the dot starts to get illuminated at about 7. So basically settings 1-6 or 7 are useless. The battery died in 1 year when leaving it on on setting 8. It does look to be authentic, I purchased it from a local gun shop for a steal.

I have a C3. I'm in a dimly lit room right now and happen to have my SBR right here. Going through the settings, the first illumination I see is on level 3. It's very faint at that point though.

In the house at 6 its perfectly visible during the day....I turn it up to 8 on a sunny day at noon and its easy to pick out. I think yours may need a trip back to Aimpoint to get fixed.
