Have a Colt upper big hole, a small hole lower and a handfull of offset bushings.  Where is the sweet spot?  If the top of the large hole is 12 o'clock, towards the stock 3 O'clock and the barrel end 9 o'clock, where should the thinnest part to the insert bushing be located?  Tried lots of locations get good fit at rear of lower but big gap between lower and upper.  Other locations get good tight space between upper and lower but bad fit at the rear.  Use the O ring trick up front and the red wedge product on the other end.  Just want to know if anyone knows where the sweet spot is, or do I have to compromise.

I put the thinnest area on top for mine.  I would guess that they fit each rifle a little differently though.  Once it is in, you can just leave it in.  Just take out the back pin when you want to clean it.

Don't know why I didn't try 12o'clock, thanks that seems to be the best spot.  Good fit at the rear where the bolt is going to strike the buffer and the tightest between the upper and lower, thanks again.
