How often do you replace the Action Spring in your Carbine? |
|
For most people, never. If you have a quality part to begin with the amount aof ammo needed to fatigue the buffer spring to the point of failure would be quite high. My highest count AR was a former Colt SP1. It had somewhere in exess of 10k rounds on it, and was working just fine when I sold her. Yea, I kick myself now... |

Tha is one poorly thought out poll... Better answer might have been:
5k rounds 7500 rounds 10k rounds 10k+ rounds never, unless it fails <5k is ridiculous for almost any parts replacement on an AR.Of course, though, according to the above link round count has nothing to do with replacing the spring. why do you ask? |

I asked because I didn't know. I was always told that a spring wears from constant compression and expasion. I had know idea these springs were good for so long. Now i know thank you! |

Yup, now you know, and I'd recommend looking over the -23&P linked above, there's a lot of useful information in there. |
