So I've had VERY good luck with the accuracy of 77TMK's in my rifle and wanted to test the latest from Bone Frog. I like Molons tests and so try to copy them. The Ammo: -come in the 50rd boxes. -cases appear to be annealed, boxer primed with a "silver-color" primer. -The primer and bullet are NOT sealed nor crimped. -cases marked "Bone Frog 223". -loaded with about 23.6gr of a ball powder. -average of 10 spent cases (so fired and primers still present) is 92.54gr. -COAL was right around 2.248" The Rifle used: 20" Krieger, LR match chamber, with 4055rds thru it and mk4 scope on top. The Range: -200yds, benched. -Elevation is 5541ft. Chrono results: Labradar used at 83F, 30.00" pressure and 26% humidity. 10 shots each: First string: Ave 2773 ES=28 and SD=8.6 Second string: Ave 2770 ES=27 and SD=9.0 I did have 2 pierced primers. ? Again, 200yds, benched and 10shot groups. Conditions that day: 90F, 29.96"and 23% humidity. This ammo shot very well for me and my rifle. If you have to have "mil spec" ammo, this isn't for you. I'm not sure the cause of the pierced primers- well used barrel, now I didn't note I'd changed the F pin yet- so it had 4000rds on it? I did switch it out so on "group day" it was a new one and no pierced primers. With 40rds so far, no malfunctions, shoots well, the cases seem ok (though I didn't carefully measure them etc) and GOOD accuracy. Reasonably priced too. |
