I am kinda broke now and don't see that changing anytime in the near future.  So what I need to know is what is the minimum I should need to buy, parts wise (upper/lower receiver, stripped or no) in order to be able to build an AR any way I want after the sunset, but before a new ban goes into place.  Ideally no new ban will come and we will all be able to due what we want, but you never know.  I know no one can predict the future, and if a new ban does come we can not know what it will ban ( I may have to buy a whole rifle who knows).  Anyways thank you all.

If the new AW ban you speak of uses the exact same verbage as the old ban you will need a receiver with a pistol grip and a collapsing stock. Or a barreled receiver with a pistol grip and either a flashider or a bayonet/grenade launcher mount.

In my opinion if they get going on a new ban they will try to fill in the gaps they missed on the last one.

Either a 'pre-ban' upper, or a lower reciever with tele-stock, and a few high-cap mags (orlites are cheap, $9.99 ea for 30rd mags)...
