I have the lowers, just want to use the right one from the start. Got a spare Anderson that I can use.

I hate to be a pest but I have another question. The Anderson lower is thicker on the right side (when looking forward) vs the left side over the area where the safety goes thru. Is this going to be an issue?  I really don’t want to use one of my already assembled lowers. I have several Bushy lowers that are thin on both sides.

I installed it in the Anderson lower and so far it seems to be operating correctly. In fast semi the trigger seems to reset as the bolt is just before going in to the lugs. Not sure when I’ll go to the range as I’m not a fan of shooting in sub 32° weather. I may have to fight frozen fingers for a few mins tomorrow though.

I did go to the range and about froze my fingers off.

Range report.

Put the first mag in, ran a few rounds semi and all was fine. Flipped to frt and it fired one round and locked the trigger. Ejected that round and fired 10 or so rounds frt and locked trigger again. Did that a couple more times before the 40 round mag was empty.

Stuck a second mag in and shot about half and had a light primer strike. Kicked it out and emptied the mag. These were with my hand loads.

Swapped over to IMI 55 gr and it would fire 2 frt then the bolt would only be about half way over the third round in the mag. It did that about 3 or 4 times and I gave up. Temp was 20° and wind chill showed 9°.  I’m wondering if an H2 buffer might help that.

All in all I think it’s gonna work just fine, just gonna need a little break in and maybe tuning the buffer. Gonna lube it up good and also try some wolf gold 55’s. Worked fine in semi auto.

I'll pull some non-functioning Partisan Disruptor triggers out and put some working triggers in. If these three ARC-Fire/G$ setups work, I'll be all in for more AR15s.

What are you using as a pattern to guide your modification of the G$ triggers?

I ordered a jig from Deez Nutz and also have a cut trigger from a Hoffman Super Safety that I ordered from AS Designs last week. Will either of these do?

You're a bad man, HKH. I now have 6 ARC-Fire Ambis with mil spec levers, and 6 Geissele G2S triggers with lever blockers, in various stages of order fulfillment and delivery.

Now I have no reason to leave any of my 4 Partisan Disruptor triggers in any of my weapons. They are all getting pulled for a better option. When I receive functioning selectors and perhaps some upgraded spring options, I probably will stick one back in a lower for testing. If that works, I'll upgrade the other Disruptor units and buy some lowers to stick them in. Other than that, they'll remain on my shelf for the time being. Since I will now have all of the FRTs I need for the time being, I won't be purchasing any Partisan LMTs as I said I would. Circumstances changed on their end.

That is not a big deal for me. I love LaRue MBT-2s triggers, but have been pulling them because FRT options for them are not encouraging. So, I'm doing something that I never imagined: I am pulling LaRues for Geisseles! I never had anything against Geissele; I simply focused on LaRue triggers.

Well, after reading what everyone has said, I went ahead and ordered an AF FRT, long selectors, and lever blocker from AS, and a jig to cut my G$ SSA from GMR.  Have a Disruptor that will be here Monday, and that will more than likely go in a lesser used rifle, and AF will go in my main, go-to rifle.

Just out of curiosity, why are you getting rid of your disruptors?

I go into that in length in this thread on the previous page in a couple of places, especially, IIRC about post #13 or so.

It basically works out to this: None of my 4 Disruptors work. I quite often mention the number of Disruptors that I own to establish the size of the sample. Someone might argue, "Well, he might have received a defective Disruptor." That would be a possibility that the sample size of 4 negates. All 4 of my Disruptors have the same problems. They all have defective, unusable, selectors. They cannot be trusted to remain in the fire position. New functioning selectors are supposed to be on the way in the near future. I am anxious to install them. I am anticipating an improvement in this area. But, my problems are greater than that.

I find the trigger pull lacking. Of the various models of FRTs in my AR15s, I consider the Disruptors to have the worst trigger pull of all. I did not expect that. I expected more. On the previous page of this thread, I noted that my Hoffman Super Safety has an amazingly good trigger pull. I used their cut trigger and a high round count mil spec (naturally polished!) hammer that was probably a take off when I was transitioning from mil spec triggers to LaRue MBT-2s triggers. I added a Sprinco hammer spring when I installed it with the Hoffman.

ARC-Fires and G$ triggers are held to be the epitome of excellence at this point in time. The Disruptors are not.

At this point in my life, I have use for neither mediocrity nor an above-average product.

In conclusion, I must acknowledge that others whose opinions I respect have a higher opinion of the Disruptors than do I. I encourage readers to take that into consideration. Their voices should be given the respect they deserve.

ETA: Should someone produce an upgrade spring kit for the Disruptor, I'll give that a go. I do want these triggers to work. That is why I am holding on to them: in anticipation of that which might be. Also, I mention the number of ARC-Fires to establish the sample size. If I say that 6 ARC-Fires are all the bomb, that carries greater weight than saying I bought one and it worked.

It is the same.  You’re adjusting the trigger to interact with the ARC itself no matter the host.

Don't you need a rounded hammer for certain non AR guns, and for 9mm ARs?

Yeah - that was a point I was hoping to get clarity on.  Maybe @s3igu2 or @ASDesigns or @Jeremy2171 could help shed light on all of the required mods to a G$ trigger to make it compatible with the ARC-fire in the AS Designs MP5 and MP5k lowers.

Bump to hopefully catch the attention of @s3igu2 or @ASDesigns or @Jeremy2171

I did search all the tutorials on AS Designs' website and I couldn't find anything about G$ mods for the MP5 and K lowers when using the ARC fire and a G$ trigger/hammer.

I came home, cleaned and lubed the upper and headed back to the range.

Getting constant 3-5 round bursts. Let off the trigger and get another 3-5 round burst. The ammo was Winchester M193 W193K. I went thru about 60 rounds and that was all of the cold I wanted.

The only thing I noticed was that the screw on the selector lever had backed out a little and the lever was loose. I put blue loc tite in the threads last night. I’ll reloc tite it and see what happens.

It’s gonna be highs in the low 20’s the next couple of days so it’ll be sometime next week before I get out again. I also plan on taking a second 16” upper to try.   May also take a 20”.

I was using a 16” upper and magpul mags.  Gonna also try usgi mags.

I don't remember if it was in this  thread, but someone asked about LWRC Ultra Compact (UCIW) stocks, and someone else, 5D tactical cut 80% lowers.

Had great success with an ARC-fire safety with a self cut Geissele G2S trigger in a 5D tactical cut 80% lower with a LWRC Ultra Compact (UCIW) stock with the factory LWRC spring and short buffer that contains two tungsten weights.

I appreciate the offer. There didn’t seem to be any play in the lever when I was working with it last night. I saw a vid a few pages back showing quite a bit of play in the cam lever. Maybe both screws loosening added a little slop that I didn’t notice today.

Upon closer inspection both of the lever screws were loose. I loc tited both and snugged them. They’ll probably have several days to set before I get to the range again.

Next week I’ll try a couple more uppers.  If I continue to have issues I’ll take you up on a shim.

Total today I probably put 100-120 rounds thru it.

Where are you placing this shim? I was just curious. I’m having some issues with my ARC-Fire. ARC is sending me some replacement parts that should be here next week, but I’ve also ordered several different trigger groups to try with the one that isn’t working correctly. Colt, ALG, Schmid GI-style, and a few others should all be here next week. I even picked up a Geissele GS2 to possibly test.

I know I’ll end up with a working ARC-Fire in the end, but I’m kind of obsessed with diagnosing exactly what’s wrong with this one. My OCD won’t let me move on until I fully understand why something isn’t working properly.

Very little comes off here. I rounded it over with a burr and then cleaned it up with a stone.

I chopped this with a cut off wheel for bulk removal and then got the shape with the burr. Not pretty and doesn't have to be.

Note I never got into the jig other then a light kiss in one spot. Just take your time, very easy to do this.

I installed my first ARC-Fire Ambi with mil spec-looking levers tonight. Of the 6 ARC-Fires and 6 G$ G2S triggers that I have ordered, 3 have come in and the other 3 are on the way. I ordered mil spec safety levers for all of them.  I also got 10 lever blockers, just in case I decided to order some more ARC-Fires. I'm glad that I did. I'm just sorry that I didn't order 20 lever blockers! That is a hint at that which is to come.

Since I have to work on the G$ triggers, and I don't have the right burrs for either my Dremel tool or my die grinder, I thought that I would do a temporary install with the supplied cut trigger from AS DESIGNS. I used a take off mil spec hammer that I had in my spare parts. I also put a new Sprinco hammer spring on it. This is my last Sprinco hammer spring and I can't find more online.

All of my AR15 carbines and pistols have either Sprinco blue buffer springs with H3 buffers, or Geissele Super 42 springs with H3 buffers. As much as possible I use Sprinco springs everywhere in my ARs. I have other Sprinco buffer springs (white hot and red) in case I need to test a lower with them. I have an H2 buffer to substitute if needed. I upgraded all of my buffers to H3s with tungsten weights purchased either from Amazon or from Geissele when they were on sale.

I worked this weekend and then have been away at a conference this week, so I couldn't get to the installation before now.

Oh my. The trigger is not bad at all. It is actually pretty good. It is much better than I expected. Not two stage good, but a very good single stage. The take up is not gritty at all with a pretty smooth pull. It has a little hitch in the middle, but I can live with it. The break is discernible and repeatable. I'd rate it as crisp. I'm pleased.

The function tests on the ARC-Fire have been perfect.

But as soon as I get the G$ trigger shaped, it is going in. Thanks to those who recommended the ARC-Fire. If you are still hesitant, get over it, and get at least one ARC-Fire to try.

ETA: The crisp, precise selector positions are nice.

Going to try cutting a G$ SSA this weekend, then install the Arc Fire.

I do have a jig from redacted arms but think I'll just follow the line Mr Bill provided for the right side.

Sorry if it was already asked, what burr tool is best for rounding the left side?

Mine came with my dremel or in a bit kit over 20 years ago. It leaves a nice polished surface with no grit marks like a sanding wheel.

I also did my SSA using a Dremel with a carbide bit. Used this only for the right side, came out perfect! For the left side radius I used stones by hand. Started with course and finished with fine.  Installed and tested, worked as intended. For the ambi selectors I found some stainless steel black panhead screws with allen sockets. Couldn't find torx.

+1 for this recommendation. This was my go-to bit as well. It took off just enough metal without leaving any burrs or rough edges. I finished it off with 600-grit sandpaper to make sure, but the alu-oxide cylinder is the way! I did a few more G$ triggers for some friends with the cylinder as well, and all came out perfectly!

Also interested in this.  The Rare Breed lawsuit has me worried.

Hey all,

I got an Ambi ARC-Fire kit and the Trigger seems to be cut pretty shallow compared to what I have seen previously:

Is this going to work or do I need to grind this thing?

I'd install it and do a functional check.

Yeah it's No-Go, it's binding up and won't let me move into ARC. Upon closer inspection it seems like there's too much material on the trigger.

What a bummer.

Open it up and observe.  Yes, right side  appears like it may "get in your way".  It may not have been cleared enough to avoid interference with the right side of the safety shaft.

Be prepared to catch the hammer while observing.  Hammer strike is bad without the upper there to catch.

But, don't relieve the left side unless you are binding there.  If you relieve, be stingy - too much gone means adding material, so ...

This may be a silly question, but in the case of G triggers, would it be a better option to use the full profile SSF hammer rather than a standard SSA and lever blocker? Assuming the SSF components aren’t incompatible, that is.

Then again, I’d understand if AS and others intentionally avoided any and all select fire components altogether for plausible deniability’s sake.

Any chance you guys will make a trigger for the SIG 55x series?

Am I the only one that used an angle grinder and a Leatherman?

This is the G$ SSA, left side.

Here's what it looks like sitting in the jig.

Doesn't look like I need to touch the left side of it?

Just cut the right side & function check?

eta: I'll need to get the lever blocker too?
