[ARCHIVED THREAD] - ACOG Zero question

Today was the first time I've had the chance to zero an AR15 with an ACOG on it. I only had a 25yd indoor range available to me, plus it's to freaking hot to be outside.

Anyway I usually just zero to a point that is about .75 inches below POA, and then adjust when I get to a longer range. Looking through the ACOG, it looked like the rounds were impacting the target at about the 300yd line in the scope. Would it just be easier when getting a 25yd zero to just use either the 200 or 300yd line?

Anyone else want to comment?

ETA: Its a TA01NSN and a 16 inch barrel.

Use the 300m line at 25m for an approximate zero, as the round is at about the same elevation at 25m and at 300m.

Eye relief seems to be a non issue, as the reticle and sight picture can be seen from a fairly wide range of distances.

Yes you can easily shoot with both eyes open.

Agree with Phoebus -- 25m zero is very close to 300m zero.
