Yes...the lower is a company property full-auto, all the rest of the parts are mine. I left the barrel 16" so I can put it on any of my semi-auto lowers should I need to for whatever reason. Tomorrow is the AZ state subgun match, I'm hyped! I gotta go buy a 1,000 rounds of 9mm later, this is going to be a big one. |

the sub-gun matches here require you to shoot it on full-auto or burst (whatever your gun has). Half the challenge to the competition is hitting some of the targets the specified number of rounds while dealing with recoil and muzzle climb. Burst guys get screwed....they'll do target that require 2 or 4 rounds on them, just to make it harder for them. Some clubs have pistol caliber carbine matches, which your SBR would be fine for. |
Hell QS, shoot it in one of the tactical matches. I run my 9mm AR, and as long as the distances stay this side of 150 yards, it'll hang with the best of them. I run our local tactical matches; open class MEANS open class. After all, it's not the weapon, but the shooter that determines who wins or loses. |

unfortunately a lot of clubs don't follow your thoughts on what open class should be...I am in total agreement with you, open class should be anything and everything so long as its not a safety hazard. We created Trooper class for our match at the Tiger Valley range coming up in a few weeks....you can use whatever the hell you want, you just have to carry it all. I'll be using the subgun on many of the stages, shooting subgun at our match you can engage rifle and pistol targets with it. |

QS: Don't know about other matches, but the Indiana State Subgun Championships (www.issmc.com) are for full-autos ONLY. Semi-auto SBRs need not apply (I did ask, though!). |

Sometimes you're better off without full auto.... Well the match today was fun. I got off to a good start, and halfway through the match my autosear got worn down to the point the hammer was following. I had to cycle the action manually every 3-4 rounds to reset the hammer....I really hate machine guns sometimes, finicky contraptions that they are  I think I still did pretty good though, my stage times weren't terrible and lots of people had problems with their guns (as usually happens at these things). Here's a couple 9mm setups... Sinistral I had a question but I think your last pic answered it - is that the coyote brown color, or tan? Sure looks coyote in the last pic. Been thinking about getting a couple of cav arms units but can't decide on the color!! LOL... decisions decisions. Someday maybe we'll have a .45acp photo thread. |
They're coyote Brown....the Desert tan has been discontinued due to lack of interest. |
Great pics, as usual. I love the cardboard figures. We shot a pistol match a couple years ago in the local tire house. They had put a life size cardboard figure of the wrestler "The Undertaker" about four feet inside one of the doorways. When I kicked in the door and saw that guy, I emptied the entire magazine into his ass. After I finished shooting, the RO asked me if I was aware that only two rounds were required per target. I said, yeah I know, but you can't tell me if you opened the door and saw that guy standing there for real, you wouldn't have put a few extra rounds into him just to make sure.

LOL good times. At this one, the carboard figures were no-shoots. It was supposed to be a simulated Famous Sam's Restaurant, as one of the owners of a local franchise shoots subgun at our range and gave out free meal coupons to the winners.  The shooter started out with a stack of dishes in their hands, since you were supposed to be "bussing tables" |

Gamma: My barrel is a 9.25" with integral 3-lug adapter from Mark McWillis at www.trosusa.com. He doesn't advertise the barrels on his web site (yet?), but he does maintain a regular ad with pics/prices/specs over on www.subguns.com. The 5" barrel in Hallmark's post above is from the same guy, and he also offers 9mm complete barreled uppers using this barrel and the Predator rail system. |
Yes, works fine the Tri-lock used on Gemtech and SWR. Somewhere I have a picture of the above setup with a SWR Omega QD3-K, If I can find it on my PC I will post it. Steve |

This is a great forum. Thank you for those who enjoy the AR9MM. I have a Colt 9 carbine but I am having problems with the magblock, mabey someone can help me. I have one of the origional "drop-free" 9mm mag-blocks(when you press the mag release, you can pull the block right out). But I am having problems with it. It does work. When I first got it, I had it with a .223 upper combo set with the same receiver. It is so convient to be able to switch to a different caliber so quickly. But now that it is in its own receiver it gets hung up and only fires (1) round, the bolt is impossiable to pull back, and it is really tight to close(re-assemble). If any one may know what is or may be going on, please respond. I may get rid of the block all together if any one is interested. Also, I want to change my existing 16" barrel to a SBR. Is there a better way than another? Thanks,
