 I updated my old RRA A4 9mm carbine with Magpul SL grip and SL-K buttstock back in 2017. This carbine I built myself way back in 2006 using a complete factory RRA upper half 16 inch barrel, stripped RRA lower receiver and RRA lower parts kit. Evening everyone! Long time lurker, not many postings under my belt and I've never tried posting a picture. My first registered SBR is a 9mm AR build. I was very new to gunsmithing(If you want to call it that) and made a lot of mistakes with this one for sure. I even had to send it to Macon Armory to help give my previous blowback barrel a once over. It was a great experience and I had a lot of fun making it. Big thanks to Rudy@Macon for not smacking me on the head and crushing my enthusiasm during its creation, also big thanks to building365atbaf for providing some instructions. Ultimately, I added the CMMG RDB equipment and followed Amphibian's directions for making it even smoother. Parts: PSA Colt Lower modified to use modified sterling mags w/LRBHO. Aero Precision XL Upper CMMG 5" RDB barrel and bolt PSA coated and polished trigger |

My poor man's MP5SD (radial delayed blowback AR9) is pretty much done aside from maybe adding some HK style sights later on down the road. I was having ejection issues with my modified EPC9 upper so I switched to an M4E1 upper and enlarged the ejection port. I've got an extractor upgrade kit coming and I have extra ejector springs if the factory ejector spring is bad.  |

 Same AR 9mm pistol that I posted above on 6/ 3/ 2022, I installed my last part which is the PDQ ambi-bolt release made by Guntology, also installed my handguard. It's now complete and ready for testing at the shooting range. I changed my grip to a B5 Systems more upright grip angle. |

I think I'm done for now. Colt SBR Lower w/ Geissele SSA-E Wilson Combat 458 Socom clearanced port door upper PRI Gas Buster CMMG Radial Delayed 5" barrel and BCG KAC URX4 10.75" ILWT 3 lug Rugged Obsidan 45 in long config on 3 lug DI Optical RV2 red dot The RDB setup suppresses subsonics incredibly well. It is honestly comparable to my 8" MP5 setup when shot back to back suppressed.

Here's my entry. Colt 635 clone. Built using a 635 parts kit I scored a while back.  -Colt 635 parts kit that came with everything except the center section of the lower receiver. Even had a buffer spacer still in the tube. -Knights Armament stripped SR-15 lower that I drilled and pinned the original one piece mag well adaptor in to. -Schmid fire control group. Full hammer is identical to original auto hammer geometry. -SBA3 brace -DS Arms 6 hole carbine handguards so I didn't drill holes in the original Colt handguards for the light rail. -GG&G handguard flashlight mount. -Surefire 6P with flip down red filter. -Came with 1 Colt 32 rd mag but later found 8 more Colt 32 rounders with metal followers at the local gun and pawn. Hardest part was pinning the used mag well adaptor. Measured its height the original front 1/3 of the 635 receiver and then clamped it at same height in the Knights lower. Also measured where the original holes were and drilled new holes in a slightly different spot in a drill press. Made sure the new holes went thru solid and fresh spots on the mag well. First time to the range ran through 300 rounds of 115g and 124g fmj 9mm without a single issue. Didn't have to tweak the ejector position as it was perfect from the get go. After several range visits it's become my designated HD AR. I absolutely love this little 9! |
