After googling it, there appears to be more than one type of upper in 7.62 tokarev, pistol length DI or blowback. The threads I saw spoke about machining the lower for PPS magazines, but there might be other types. So you might have quite a project ahead of you. ETA Old thread on another site. |

For my Tok upper I opted for a Heavy Metal magazine adapter that takes unmodified PPS43 mags. Downside is it’s expensive, heavy, and has no LRBHO. On the upside the mags have 35 round capacity, a slimmer profile that takes up less space, reliable feeding, easier to identify, and look cool. The mag block is held in place with the standard magazine release button, which I replaced with a bullet button to prevent accidental release.
