Ran 40 flawless rounds through the 18" Geissele/SOLGW build with my 2 15 round Geissele mags. I really want some Geissele 20 rounders for that build and my 30's will be for my 12.5" build (new barrel in it tonight. It also saw 40 rounds with perfect function). |

Or it’s possible the barrel needed a few rounds to polish up/foul. My Mk4 I can shoot some good groups with, but it takes some doing and it’s not particularly suited to the task. Sometimes that reticle (FFP TMR illum) feels like you’re aiming with a fence post. |

I have however, been able to get one phone call answered about a week ago and they guy said he would get back to me with a status update but that’s it. Have you heard anything back from them yet? Nope. They went radio silent on me. Early on in the process they were super responsive but after a while they just stopped responding. Basically they sold me a bad barrel, and then couldn’t provide a replacement or authorize a refund. Ended up having to do a chargeback to get my money back. Thank goodness for Amex. |
| Do you all think Noveske's DDF's are worth the premium they appear to bring for comparable lengths? Looks like their non-DDF's are $200-300 cheaper than the DDF. Is the accuracy similar between the two? |

They don’t blow my hair back but they shoot ‘well’ and I can usually get MOA out of them with decent ammo. They’re not anywhere as good as nicer options, they’re about the basement level of precision barrel for me. They also chrono on the slow end relative to my others of similar lengths. There’s no way I’d pay what they’re asking for their DDF and I think they’re leaning heavily on their name and marketing to do it. If I were paying that price I’d be buying a Proof etc |

If I were paying that price I'd be buying a Proof etc I already had a full Geissele DDC build when I decided to get a 6 ARC barrel. If I were to start over, I'd get an 18" Geissele GFR Stratomatch for their cut rifled barrel and phased array gas system as it can be had for $2,400-$2,600. Everything I have seen about the GFR shows they shoot really well, and most reports are from the CHF chrome lined barrels. I am very happy with my 18" cut rifled phased array 5.56 barrel from them. However, I am very happy with how my SOLGW barrel is performing so far for the $310 I paid for it. |

I don’t mess with barrels in that price range anymore but if I did, mine did what I asked of it. |

I've done a few... ![]() Attached File The factory gas port is .082 which checked out with my drill bits. I am using the Griffin adjustable block and bought the plate with no holes drilled. I did .082 for unsuppressed shooting and .067 for suppressed shooting. There is another side of the plate, so I am going to try .058-.060 ish and .078-.080 ish I think. I may stick with .082 as I'll rarely if ever shoot unsuppressed and it just needs to work if that happens, but .067 is still a little gassy. I'll use that for dirty suppressed shooting. https://griffinarmament.com/shop/griffin-adjustable-ar-15-gas-block/ |

Put a MK18 rail on my 18" and swapped my MK5 3.6-18 to a MK4 6-24. MK5 went on my 18" 5.56. I intend to shoot this a fair amount for PRS next spring. 12.6 pounds with 15 rounds of 108gr on board ![]() Attached File |

Does PRS require a lot of movement with the gun? I shot Cola central TX for the second time last week using my AR with an 11.5” BCM lightweight barrel. Other than jogging/walking the half mile run to the firing line, it seems to me gun weight didn’t matter a whole lot because the rifle portion of the course was effectively static. A pound or so here or there I probably wouldn’t notice during that half mile. I’m considering buying a 6 arc barrel for next year’s Cola. To get better performance I can probably ladder a 5.56/.223 load that works in my BCM tube, but the velocity and BC in 6 arc in a short barrel is temptingly impressive. Last year at Cola rifle hurt my score because I couldn’t see distant targets. This year I could see targets fairly well because I upgraded optics. Lack of cardio was what hurt my rifle and pistol accuracy. 6 arc won’t change that. I welcome thoughts. |

Lack of cardio was what hurt my rifle and pistol accuracy. 6 arc won't change that. I welcome thoughts. I've run several guns at Cola. 18" .308 at West 1 & 2, 16" 5.56 with 55gr at West 4, 5, and 6, a 13.7" with 75gr, 12.5" with 69gr, 16" 69gr and a different 16" with 77gr at Northwest. Also ran the 16" with 69gr at Heartland last year. I think West 2 is the only event I haven't cleared rifle because I had to move on to pistol after taking several seated shots at the 550 yard target and only had 2 minutes to get pistol done. That is the only event I haven't visited the range and found the targets before my run. But yes, cardio helps! I try to run until the last 100-200 yards to start bringing my breathing and heart rate down. However, it's only been the last few events that required us to run with it rifle, which I like. I agree, a pound or two there isn't going to impact your run. However, at cola ranges, spicy 77gr from a 16-18" 5.56 works just fine since most don't go past 550. 6 ARC really seems to shine past that. However, I will 100% be running my 12.5" 6 ARC at NW in February. Interestingly, my 12.5" is 11.2# with 15 rounds of 108gr. Only 1.4 points lighter, but much shorter and better balanced for anything kneeling or offhand. Even my 18" 5.56 SPR is 12.2# with a 30 round mag of 69gr. All of those weights include bipods, suppressors, ammo, etc. The scopes with mounts are all over 2#. |
