Did the 605 lower have the flashing removed at the rear by the grip and smoothed over like the other early models? Seems all models had it in the trigger area, also what about the front mag well area? I have not been able to find pics other that others reproductions. Need to know now before it goes to victor for color match on the upper.

Thanks!

OK so by the 24 hours of silence it is decided that it just doesn't matter... Cool

I have had the same question in mind as to whether the flashing was sanded smooth behind the grip on lowers made pre 66.
Maybe I need to take the time to search through the "real deal" pics.

There were at least two types of 605's, by the way.  RO 605 and RO 605B. The KAC museum has at least 3 variants on display, one with a forward assist, the others not.

The lowers were different, engraved to indicate the fire modes.  The 605B had a 4-way fire control group, with SAFE, AUTO, SEMI, and BURST.

I have a 605B in the works, with a lower engraved by Braceman already.  You can see forge flashing on this 605B:

Right... I knew about the trigger area but what isn't clear is the rear area where the web of your hand is between thumb and index finger. Most appear to have the front forging marks machined or sanded down. I did just a standard 605 so I didn't have to alter the selector stops
