After last years SMM3G and Johnson 3-Gun I decided a cat-tail might be a good thing. The power knob on S&B scopes can be stiff and or slippery when you are in a hurry.
A buddy of mine is a wizard when it comes to CNC stuff and offered to help. And those Germans being as smart as they are, the power rings are the same on all their scopes. So I added them on my 5-25s and 4-16s. We made a bunch just cause we can. They head off to get anodized early next week. I will toss a few in my bag when I head to Mesa here in a few weeks. 
And this is how they look on a 5-25 mounted on my AIAW.

R&R does not make them for the S&B most likely due to the complexity of the ring ID. It takes a lot of machine time and a couple different cutters.
If I get a wild hair and make them for NF scopes, they will be almost exactly like these. Notches milled in to exactly fit the knob instead of just using friction to clamp on. And no I am not planning to make enough of these things to retire on. |

As of yesterday there are 23 sets out there.
Todays project is to cut a dozen or so S&B, NF and Loopy cat-tails. Uncle Sam has been cutting into my free time these past couple weeks. Maybe I will be able to get some work done today. I will post pics of the NF and Loopy sometime this next week. |

If it shows up looking anything like the pics I'll be satisfied, from the pics posted by customers already I have no worries. To date he has been prompt in answering PM's about the scope levers and has kept me up to date with shipping and tracking number. All in all he has been good to deal with. My only gripe is that due to my deployment schedule and upcoming PCS transfer it may be the middle of June before I get to play with it at the range. |
