I would get a PK-AS or a Kobra red dot... Both Russian made.

The side mount sold by Robinson Armament is supposed to be one of the lowest sitting available.

I've had the K-VAR mount and a Tantal BP-02 I believe before, and could not get used to the side rail thing.  In order to still take the topcover off, the side mounts seemed to still sit too high to use with any cheek weld. (YMMV).  I remember the K-VAR mount being the better of the two as far as solidity, zero, etc.  I did have some zero issues with the Tantal mount, even with numerous tightness adjustments, but I may have just gotten a lemon.  Either way, if I did it again, it would be the K-VAR mount, but they aren't cheap.

The BP-02's don't seem to sit in the center of the rifle. I haven't had any other mounts ...
