today at the range the nut came off and while yes the obvious answer was screw it back on dummy what are some good ways to make sure it doesnt come rattling off again

What rifle and what end of the rifle are you talking about?

I'm not familiar with any nuts on a standard AK besides the grip nut, which doesn't sound like what you're talking about. BSW

on the receiver  near the very back opposite side of the button you have to push to remove the recoil spring. I doubt it varies much from AK to AK but its a yugo m70AB2

actually the yugo's are the only ones that have that release button. my ab2 did that till i put a drop of lock-tite on it. use the blue so it can be removed easily if you need to.

flare end of screw, turning it into a rivet.  They are not meant to be removeable.  We sacrifice some of the designed-in specifications to allow us to tinker with them constantly.  IE, the grip screw should be flared too, but then you can't swap furniture.
