Has anyone had rust problems on any of the rifles in the m70 family? Im not experiencing these problems and I plan on not ever having them. Im curious because my m70ab2 is mostly metal. Is there any way I can prevent rust problems? thanks

Maintain rifle as per the manual.

I use Ballistol on my AKs, but CLP, LSA, or motor oil will work also.

Some rust testing I did here:

No problems on my end.  With normal preventative maintenance there shouldn't be any reason to worry.  I use Weaponshield (the internals) and Break Free (external of rifle) CLPs with great results.  I do make sure the bore always has a film of Weaponshield on it since it isn't chrome lined, cheap insurance.
