Hello all, I posted here a while back, been lurking sence then.

way back in March, i bought a AK Hunter II I think it wound up to be.
well, I finnaly got to the range today, and shot it.  it seemed to me that the recoil made the rifle move to the right and up a little and that is where my holes where in the target. about 7 inches right and about 2 or 3 inches up. (at 100 yards)
my question is: is this the way the recoil system works? does it cause it to move this way? I think i got a good grouping at 100 yards, 10 rounds in a 12 inch circle or so. one or 2 "fly'ers" of course, but this was my first time with this rifle.

i've noticed some AK's that have a muzzle break that seems to be canted, is this why?
I also shot my AR. switched back and forth for about 100 rounds apiece.

is this  something to learn to compensate for? or are my sights that far off?
thanks
Mike

you need to adjust your sights down and left, and you should be good.  though a 12 inch group at 100 is terrible accuracy even for an AK.  it could be ammo related however, go buy some brown bear, silver bear, or barnaul ammo and try grouping it again, do it slow and carefully and you should be able to tighten that up a lot.
then adjust your sights to zero it.

as for the canted muzzle devices, yes the weapons like to go up and right when shooting full auto, and to a far lesser degree when semi.  I hardly notice it.  you shouldnt be getting much deflection on groups due to it however.

If the pattern is in a spot, it is likely the sights. If the pattern is a streak, it is likely your hold/trigger pull moving the gun.
