[ARCHIVED THREAD] - muzzle break question

I've got a Romak 2 5.45x39 with what looks like a tac welded on muzzle nut. Is it threaded underneath? I seem to remember reports of the Romanians using a press fitted nut with no threads. I'm asking because I'd like to put a 74 break on it without doing the whole new FSB set up. Otherwise I'd probably keep it as is. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

the nut is just press fitted on the smooth (unthreaded) muzzle.

trust me. the threaded fsb and romy brake, while more work and money than a pressed on generic brake, is definitely worth the effort.

I do like the way they look for sure. Is it a pretty tough chore? I can probably get the old stuff off without too much trouble. How's the installation? Is is just a matter of sliding on the FSB and putting in the 2 pins? Campy you are the man!
