Sounds like you're not holding it rigidly enough. With the stock stowed, it's not braced against your shoulder, and you're not holding it still enough as it firing, so as it recoils, the entire gun is moving backwards almost as fast as the bolt carrier and it's basically short cycling. Handgunners call it limp wristing. |

ChiChi, I do not have any problem with my two CIA Yugo U/F's, but did tighten the U/F on one of them because it felt loose compared to the other one. It's pretty tight but it still functions good, folded or unfolded. I did try to bumpfire it the other day and could only get a couple of rounds off before the bolt would either close on a chambered round and the hammer would ride the bolt back up without firing or leave a fired shell in the chamber. BTW, this was my first attempt at bumpfiring, I'm sure that the problems was caused by the way I was holding it. I really don't think I'll try it again anytime soon. Can you loosen your U/F and see if that helps ? I am interested to know what you find out. What other AK boards are you talking about ? Do you have links to them ? I have only found a couple of other AK boards. Thanks |
The rifle wasn't designed to be bumpfired. So why should you expect it to fire perfectly in such a case with an aftermarket FCG? Just like those who have FTFs each year when I shoot during qualifications because they are using an incorrect grip on a pistol. It isn't the pistols fault. With a correct firm grip on the rifle with the stock folded and not bumpfiring does the rifle FTF? If it does then there is no problem with the rifle. What are you doing different when the stock is folded? |
