The Chinese mags that came from the SPG deal, were previously owned by the Bosnians. After they were done using them in the civil war, the Bosnians mixed them all up in with mags from other countries and threw them in a warehouse where they probably sat for a few years. Then they just sold everything to an importer who all the different mags to the US. Maybe if China sold a bunch of the drums to another country and then that country tried to import them to the US... |
I already know the history and logistics. I'm asking about the legality of importing something that is clearly banned from importation. What if that Bosnian warehouse was full of only Chinese mags? Would they still make it in? If all you have to do to import banned items is to go through a 3rd country, why isn't someone buying container loads of Chinese lead core 7.62 and routing it through "pick-a-country"? Same thing for the drums. |
I think the ban exists to prevent importation directly from China. It doesn't actually stop you from importing Chinese-made things, from other countries. If it did, that would be really kooky. |
