Hey folks, Where is a good place to find out everything there is to know about the WASR ? I've only purchased a couple of the more expensive AK variants, but thought I might pick up a couple of WASRs that accept high capacity magazines. I was just wondering about the trigger slap, and fit & finish issues that I have heard about WASRs having. Is there any quick, 'do it yourself' trigger replacements that can be done to help the slap ? What else should I be wary of when purchasing a WASR ? Thanks! |
| Probably the best site on the Internet with dedicated info: HERE |
| Look it over for straight sights, gas block, side rail parallel to the bore, yank the fcg, look for a 'C' stamped on them, if Century fcg then toss and replace with new G2 bits, get a 6 pack to tide you thru learning the shepards hook replacement, then load it and treat her like the slut she is! |

My rules to buying a WASR-10: 1) It is a $300 AK. Remember that when you look at the finish and stocks. 2) Get the GP model. No trigger slap. 3) Confirm the front sight base, rear sight, and gas block are not canted. I went to a local shop and had a selection, but the first one picked up didn't have these issues. 4) You can also check for magazine wobble, but I'm not sure on how important that is, since comblock mags we can purchase now come in various states of use and tolerances. |
