Hey guys, So I've had my M71/S for a couple of years now. I'm and engineer by trade and have tossed around the idea of making my own 3D printed versions of these magazines for a while due to the crazy costs. I went into the forums a couple years ago and saw that I'm not the only person that has tried to take swing at this. After seeing the woes of modifying other magazines to try and work I've tried to take all the feedback from those ventures as well as the feedback from the attempts made in this thread (link attached) Old attempt Seeing that the main dilemma with these alternative mag options, is usually surrounding the concentricity of the feed angle during the loading cycle into the chamber. I took a swing at it and see if I could make some reliable ones at a much lower overall cost (print material & aftermarket ak74 Springs). Well... with the recent advancements in 3d printing, mainly pertaining to dimensional accuracy from print to print, and availability of 3d printers being so prolific now. I think I've come up with a pretty decent prototype. I've printed about 3 of these so far, all of which seem to function flawlessly, I even went ahead and made the third one a 35rounder. Let me know if this is still something ya'll would be interested in, since I'd like to have some people do prototype testing.

Tag for interest. Have you posted any videos to YT or other platforms to talk about your experience? I don't have a 3D printer but it would be interesting to learn the challenges and trade-offs of trying to use 3D printing for this kind of part. I wish Magpul or somebody would have made a Galil mag. I know TAPCO did at one time, but it is not nearly as elegantly designed as what we expect from Magpul. Even Orlites are slimmer than TAPCOs. |

They’re not cool but works great and Tapco was smart enough to use usgi springs so they will last longer than me While surfing the interweb I’ve forums this… not sure if it’s something that’s coming soon for real or if it’s an old page never updated https://www.fab-defense.co.il/catalog/magazines-and-accessories/ultimag-galil |
