| Some models of underfolders seem to go straight back from the receiver, parallel to the ground. Some models appear to come back at a slight 30-degree angle from the receiver towards the ground. Anyone know the differecences? The ones that come straight back seem to give the best possible cheek weld, and when I build one I would like to have that type. Thanks. |

agreed. the early aks-47 (ak-47s) had a modicum of drop at the heel to put the shooter in a more classic 'upright head' position. the akms had far less drop to deliver recoil in more of a straightline in order to help control the muzzle in burst and sustained fire modes. inline (straight stocked style) stocks became all the rage in america and to some extent, also in europe. |
