Hello I'm new here and this is my first post. I want to get an underfolding stock for my SAR-1 and I was wondering what are my options on this? I've been looking at three different ones:

Underfolder 1
Underfolder 2
Underfolder 3

What are the differences between underfolder 1 and 2? They look the same except one seems to come with more hardware. Underfolder 3 comes with other parts attached, will this allow me to install it on my stamped reciever without having to make new holes? I've seen a polymer piece for sale that lets you put on an underfolding stock without having to drill, but I've heard that you can't use 30rnd mags with them. Is this true? If I have to modify my stamped reciever to accept these stocks, can pretty much any gunsmith do the work?

Thanks for your help in advance, Drew

What are the differences between underfolder 1 and 2? #1 is a stamped under folder. #2 is a milled under flolder and you stile would need an unerfolder trunion to instale these under folder stocks on your weapon.

Underfolder 3 comes with other parts attached, will this allow me to install it on my stamped reciever without having to make new holes? NO it will not. It is also from a Yugo underfolder and would requier a lot of fitting to make work on an SAR-1 reciever.

If I have to modify my stamped reciever to accept these stocks, can pretty much any gunsmith do the work? I don't know but do you really want just any gunsmith working on your weapon? You would be better of finding a gunsmith that regularly works on AK's.

If you want an under folder buy an under folder or sell your SAR-1 and use that money to get an under floder. By the time you buy an under folder stock and an under folder trunion and then pay someone to rework your rifle you will have way more in the wepion than if you would just buy a new rifle that is already an under folder. Just my two cents worth.

If your SAR1 has a side scope rail that will have to be removed to allow an underfolder to work.

The best advice is to shoot an underfolder before you do anything. Some people don't like them. It wouldn't be much fun to go through all that trouble, only to find you don't like the stock.
