Tantal barrel question

How can you tell if it is a
5.45 and not a 556 without firing it?

A 5.56 cartridge will not chamber in a 5.45, case is too long.

Century used 5.56 barrel blanks chambered for 5.45 in some of their Tantals.

Yep. I have one.

It’s fine with ~52 gr., but I get some keyholing with my Wolf MC 70 gr. stuff.

Mine is a ‘Steyr Aug’ jobbie and I enjoy it.
