Could anybody please give me any info on how to mount an Eastern Bloc side rail scope mount on a stamped receiver?

Thanks

Wow, the 'ol "calipers off the top of the receiver method"?  That's some precision sh*t.  Kinda figured something like that was the norm.  I guess we ARE talking about an AK though.  Thank you much.

Well .... This old Hippie thinks that's why you have adj. on your scope ... possibly to compensate for variations in your scope mounting ...

Ya think ... ?

Wouldn't know...  Not my scope, not my question.  Just asking for a friend.  I didn't know you could adjust the scope to compensate for being mounted on an angle.  Interesting...

I would do it differently myself.   I would start by making sure my irons were sighted in, then I would mount my scope on the scope mount and set the turrets to the middle of their adjustment.   At that point I would mark the location where I wanted my rail attached, drill out one hole and bolt it in place.  Then I would clamp it in the vice, and make sure my iron sights lined up with the horizontal crosshair at around 50 yards.   Then mark the proper hole locations, drill pilot holes, dremel or file to fit and rivet everything in place.
