Was just looking through Guns America and found an ad for a Bulgarian SAM-5S in 223. I had heard of the SAM-7 but not these. Are they new?

Any experience with them?

Could this be used to make a milled receiver Krinkov in 5.45?

Thanks, J

I've got them at the shop right now, and they are beautiful.  Comparable quality to a Galil.

Only bugaboo is magazines.....right now the only ones I KNOW will work 100% are the original Bulgarian 30 round polymer "waffle" magazines, which are drying up.

They may possibly work great with the East German "Weiger" magazine that most people use for the SAR-3, but I have no personal experience with them.

Using one for a 5.56mm krink would be an extremely expensive proposition though, but I guess you could sell the barrel and all the other parts as a parts kit.
